Damages is kicking murder mystery butt!
Man, I just watched the latest in the series of "Damages" the other night and Glen Close with the supporting cast is kicking butt in the murder mystery arena. The writers and director for this series should be coming up for some top notch awards. I can't believe how exciting a show can be. The story line is excellent and the presentation is too. My wife and I were so wound up from the conclusion of the last show we could hardly relax and get to sleep. We can't wait until next weeks concluding episode. If you are a murder mystery enthusiast you got to watch this series. Can't wait for the DVD.

Whats all the Hate about?
When political leaders begin to bash their bosses its time to set them down and teach them who pays their check and who gave them the job. If we can't or won't do that then we consign ourselves to being their subordinates. Anyone that would bash the workers of AIG for working to repair what damage had been done and did it with a contract that all concerned knew existed. And that the political scum that would rant to the ignorant masses about wealth envy and greed when they themselves are full of envy and greed then its time to put the bastards out.
The problem is that this is just my opinion and I have no authority on my own only what other citizens would join me in. Where are all the conscientious folk out there and why are they quiet while all this ranting and raving is going on. The calm voice of reason should be reigning but its not. It is the voice of the mob. And as is stated in "Young Frankenstein", " a mob is an ugly thing" that only follows the emotion of anger and vengeance.
There has been nothing done that would require anger or vengeance. These people worked for that money and should be paid. If folks are jealous of the amount they need to go back to school and learn how to do the things that get them paid that amount. Nobody in the capitalist market earns more than they deserve. We may not agree with whatever payment is negotiated between the parties but then we don't have to. Thats between the parties involved. If I pay to much for something thats my fault. If I don't pay enough for something thats the other persons fault. Whatever decision is reached by the parties involved and contracted to, that is their business not anybody elses. Get over it and lets get on with more mystery.

The Chalk Garden
There are movies and then there are works of art. "The Chalk Garden" is both. Haley Mills and her father, along with Debra Kerr and other fantastic supporting actors take a relatively innocuous tale and turn it into a mystery within a mystery. Haley Mills plays a confused and rebellious teenager (remember those days to well) that is engaged in living a lie because she can't accept the truth. Debra Kerr plays her governess that sees in Haley herself so long ago. The tale that unravels includes mysterious pasts and murder! But who and how can only be gleaned by taking the movie to it conclusion and even then leaves you wondering. A great movie for all age groups. My kids watched it over and over and would recite lines from the movie verbatim. And the dialog is to die for. Nothing like it today. Witty and sharp, insightful and wise, the dialog will have you rewinding to catch what was said and why. A fine and great movie.

Murder Mystery Television "Damages"
Man do I love to watch "Damages", the show is mysterious and intense. Glen Close is exceptional in her role and all the supporting actors really do set the tone of mystery. I can't remember a show that would leave me having fits for next weeks escapade.
Close is an intense actress that leaves you guessing whether or not she is the devil or an angel in a fallen culture. Every time I think I nail the character something comes along breaks up my notions. The story line leads like a whip. Future, past, present, and back again filling in the voids left from a side characters story that fills in something shocking. I'll be thinking I know where the story is leading then "CRACK", that whip snaps and I'm in another time and learning something totally different than what I thought I was. Superb writing and great acting I can't wait for next weeks episode (and that sounds weak). Mystery On!

Twitter, oh my god! This has got to be the most phenomenal collective waste of time (mostly) that I have run into. People that are using it are simply it seems just sharing inane bits of information that don't seem to really come together. Does there have to be a purpose for information? Probably not because it seems folks get different meanings out of all this info splattered on the screen. I can't take to much of it. It is fun and kind of addictive but for my purposes totally distracting and non productive.
Who wants to be productive all the time? Not me. But with the chirping sound going on in the back ground of the tweet deck and half the time my curiosity tweeting me I have the hardest time concentrating. And for me thats a major effort. So tweet one folks. I won't be there for half the tweets and my following will probably languish.

Global warming is making me cold!
Hey, here its March 1st and I'm in Georgia just above the gnat line. Its snowing and we got about an inch plus with more coming. Last week the weather guys were talking about 70 degrees and sunny. Today is a different story. I'm still real hard pressed to believe the folks that give us a 50 / 50 chance of whatever weather might come our way but yet I'm gonna believe they know whats gonna happen in 5, 10 or 50 years from now. Give me a break.
I'm going to the grocery store right now to load up on stores. You know the rice krispy treat ingredients and milk for hot koko. Blog on buddies.

Rights and Property?
Well here it is nearly March. The economy is in the crapper and I think this country is about to flip its capitalistic wig. I can't believe that a majority of people want to allow someone other than themselves determine the outcome of their lives. Whatever the outcome I want as much say as I can muster over where and what I choose to do and what I choose to do with whats mine.
I also don't believe that people really understand what property is. I think they believe its something that is a yard or a physical thing. And of course its that but it is also my skills and my intelligence. The other day I was emailing a friend and she commented that "healthcare is a right". I was incredulous. How can somebodys skill be a right to someone else. That would be like saying "car care is a right". I think that all mechanics would protest that.
I think we need to define rights and property. I think that we need as a country to define what and who has rights to my property besides me. It sounds to much like "to them according to their needs from them according to their abilities". Or some such foolishness. If its not foolishness then who will determine how much, when the needs and whose abilities.
In "Atlas Shrugged" the creative folks got tired of those that used them for the purpose of solidifying their power. Tearing down what is created through envy and hate instead of praising the creative and learning from them to empower the individual. Nobody thanks the rich for what they do. They are vilified because of their wealth as if they were born into it or cheated poor folk to get what they have. They pay the bulk of taxes and its never enough. Well, maybe now it might be. Lets not kill the goose that layed the golden egg. Lets nurture and protect it. See if we can raise another.
